The Department of Biochemistry, through the efforts of Drs. Paul Horowitz, Neal Robinson, and Merle Olson , acquired a Brookhaven laser light scattering system. In the summer of 2002, Dr. Borries Demeler incorporated the light scattering system into the Center for Macromolecular Interactions and established a separate institutional core facility, the Center for Light Scattering, joining the Center for Analytical Ultracentrifugation of Macromolecular Assemblies and the Center for Surface Plasmon Resonance.
